Robin Stanley BIO

Robin was born and raised in Vancouver, BC and became a part of the post new wave Vancouver music scene in the eighties. His charisma made him a natural frontman to a number of bands that played to audiences at some of Vancouver's most legendary clubs, including the Smilin' Buddha Cabaret, then a gritty punk rock shrine, The Town Pump in historic Gastown, and the Waterfront, at the time a hotbed for original live music.

Finally tiring of the struggle to keep groups together with members who were not as serious about the music, Robin packed in the live performing to focus on developing his songwriting and home recording skills, settling down in a quiet suburb of Vancouver.

Always the romantic dreamer, he never gave up on the hope that he would someday release an album of his own songs and resume live performing. Robin contributed a song each to Unsound Vol 1 in 1998 and Burnt Marshmallows and Teeny Bikinis in 2000, both acclaimed and respected international indie releases.

Robin realized a dream 2004 when he released his first full length CD, Mad Kingdom, which received radio airplay in some Canadian, European and US markets gaining some international notice. He also resumed live performances at smaller music venues in and around the Vancouver area.

In August of 2007 Robin released his second CD, Chronic Empire, to a worldwide audience with radio airplay and media interest from Europe, Australia and New Zealand, US and Canada. Both Mad Kingdom and Chronic Empire are available for purchase at www.cdbaby.com. Robin's enchanting video performance of "A Heart Without A Home" can now be seen on YouTube.

Robin continues to build up an international fan base from his Canadian home with a catchy alternative pop music style that has blues, folk and rock leanings. What the future has in store nobody knows, but check back with this website for regular updates...
